.....

1. This weekend we went to Wingate, saw baby Hawk ( hes doing great, along with Drew and Gina), and went to Monterrey! It was an excellent weekend. While we were in Wingate, mom-in-law, Constance, taught me a crochet pattern ( I learned how to crochet 2 years ago and have never finished a darn thing). I was so excited that I have spent almost every free minute crocheting. I have almost finished 1 pink blanket. It's pretty cute and I seem to be getting better and better as the blanket progresses.

2. Fuji Apple Chicken Salads are back at Panera Bread! Yes, they are good enough to be considered a major update in my life. They stopped serving them over the summer. I have not stepped foot into a Panera ever since, waiting for them to bring back my beloved salad. I plan to have alot of these between now and next summer, so it seems blogworthy enough to me.

3. I have become a coupon freak. For a while, I have been reading this blog-http://www.moneysavingmom.com/, but always thought using coupons was a waste of time. I decided a few weeks ago couponing was worth a try to see if we could do a better job with the grocery budget. It seems to be working, now that I am learning a system for it. It is not as time consuming as I thought. It has kinda become a fun little game to see how much money I can save at each store.

4. As you may have heard, Circuit City is going out of business. They have alot of great deals right now on cds, movies, and other great Christmas gifts. Im pretty sure I have only been to Circuit City a total of about 5 times in my life, but hey with 20-30% off, its worth a trip.

5. I GET TO SEE MY SISTER IN 11 DAYS! I AM SO EXCITED. I havent seen Emily or Russ since they moved to Indiana in the spring, so I am definitely looking forward to the visit.
6. Also, for Thanksgiving we are visiting VA to see Aaron's family and we are staying in an awesome looking house out there. Im pretty excited about that too. This is the house we are staying in-----

My Thoughts Lately...

There are babies everywhere. Everyone we know seems to be pregnant or has just had a baby. Anyone that has been married through the 2 year mark, i'm sure knows all the questions that follow.......everyone asks about babies. So when will it be your turn? and What are you waiting for?......My answers have changed throughout our marriage....Once Aaron graduates....Once we buy a house.....Once we are financially stable.....Once we enjoy some time together.......Once Aaron has a good job. All these things have happened and I have officially run out of reasons. The answer is I dont know when we will have kids....I do have baby fever with this new nephew and all the little babies around....but it is obviously not the right time yet. It will happen in God's timing and in the meantime, we are rejoicing in Him for this time without kids.

Psalms 27:14 Wait for the Lord; Be strong, and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord!

Aunt Ashley and Uncle Aaron =D

Our first nephew, Andrew Hawthorne Forsyth "Hawk", arrived last night at 11:33pm. He was 8lbs 4oz and 22 inches long. He is so cute!

Life is lovely...

Whats new?
* I officially voted Saturday after waiting in line at UNCC for 5 1/2 hours. Luckily the people in line next to Angelo, Kasey and I were pretty entertaining.
* I got new glasses. They are quite cute if I do say so myself. I will try to post a pic of them sometime. They have little pink stripes on the sides (of course).
* No nephew Hawk yet....Regina was due the 30th, but still nothing. She will be induced tomorrow so I guess there will be pics of him soon! =)
* I joined Peak Fitness....after my not so great hike up to Table Rock, I decided walking around the block and "ellipticalling" was not enough, plus Peak fitness was running a special where it averaged out to paying $12 a month. You cant beat that. So if anyone goes to Peak, I would love a workout buddy!
* My hours changed again with Great Direct, so I am working very little for them and doing more childcare.
hmmm, I think that is it. Nothing too exciting, but hey it is an update.

According to Aaron, there is nothing new going on with him...=D

Camping at Linville Falls

We left Saturday and went to Linville Falls! The leaves were beautiful, and during the day it was the perfect weather. We drove around looking for a place to camp and found a site at Linville Falls Campground. The first day we hiked up some of the trails at the falls....and then drove forever to find a grocery store to buy some hot dogs to grill. That night we made a fire, and froze! It was so cold. I'm glad we didn't wait any longer to go camping or we probably wouldn't have made it. It seems like we woke up every hour trying to adjust the blankets all around us and adding more clothing to stay warm. Sunday, we got up and went to Linville Caverns. We went on a field trip there together in middle school so it was fun to go and actually see it again. Afterwards, we went to Table Rock and hiked up. I don't think I realized how out of shape I am, bc this moderate trail really did me in. ( I'm gonna have to add some hills to my workout routine =D)I kept falling off the slippery wet rocks and having to stop and take breaks. I was pretty disappointed in myself, but finally made it to the top. The hike was well worth it for the beautiful view! Overall, we had a great getaway weekend. Thanks Audrey and Kyle for letting us borrow your packs and cool camping stuff....and thanks Mom and Dad for the tent and tarp!

You can tell how cold it is by how red my face is!

Yes, Aaron burnt one of his identical pairs of fave shoes. I was shocked.

Our New Hobby

Recently, Aaron and I have gotten very interested in cake decorating. I have no idea why, I am still shocked that Aaron agreed to spend hours piping decorator's icing and making chocolate molds, nonetheless, it is our new hobby. This is our first official cake. We made it for our sister-in-law's baby shower. We think it turned out quite nice for our first. We made a star shaped cake, b/c it is the theme of the baby's nursery stuff. We also made baby booties out of marshmallows. Then we made blocks with the letters HAWK on them. The baby is due in less than a week. His name will be Andrew Hawthorne Forsyth, but called Hawk for short. I am getting pretty excited about our first nephew's arrival!!

Other than cake decorating, there is not much going on. This past weekend we got to go and see our family while we were in Wingate for the shower. We had a very good time, but were glad to get home! Those weekends are always packed with tons of events and visiting, so it can be exhausting. We also went out for coffee at one of my fave coffee shops, La Vida Mocha. We got to see Aaron's family, my parents and grandma, Mike and Audra, and we went to Midway ( our old church) Sunday morning!

This past week my work schedule changed alot! I am now keeping a 4 month old part time, and cut back on my hours at Great Direct. It is so much fun. I didn't realize how much I missed working with children.

This weekend we are going camping! This will be the first time in almost a year and a half since we have gone on vacation together, just the 2 of us. I am so excited. I hope we don't freeze!

God is faithful

Well, this week the Lord has been busy working on me. I have trouble sometimes staying in the word and having regular quiet times. I just don't have a strong desire for the Bible alot of times and tend to have a bad attitude about it. I have been praying for God to work on me in this way and to help me see my constant need for him....and boy does he answer prayer. This week I have been reading scripture about waiting and rejoicing. There is a specific area of my life right now, that I am struggling in with waiting, lacking patience and joy. I feel like over and over God has pointed me to scripture about having joy and trusting Him in waiting, I was just too busy and selfish to realize it. So one part that stuck out to me this week was Psalm 37: 3-5:
3 Trust in the Lord, and do good;dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.
4 Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the Lord;trust in him, and he will act.
Wow. Also, we went to see Fireproof this week and felt like this pointed directly to Christ. It was a great movie and I strongly recommend it. It was a great refresher of what marriage should look like and about the gift of salvation that needs to be shared with so many.
I dont drive very often since I work from home, but it seems as though everytime I get in the car I hear this song on the radio. I put the lyrics below, I couldnt seem to upload the video. I feel like the lyrics really hit home....I could really use His eyes to see the needs around me and not just in my little world.
Give Me Your Eyes
by Brandon Heath
Looked down from a broken sky
Traced out by the city lights
My world from a mile high
Best seat in the house tonight
Touched down on the cold black tile
Hold on for the sudden stop
Breath in the familiar shock
Of confusion and chaos
All those people going somewhere?
Why have I never cared?
Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your arms for the broken hearted
The ones that are far beyond my reach
Give me your heart for the once forgotten
Give me your eyes so I can see
Step out on a busy street
See a girl and our eyes meet
Does her best to smile at me
To hide whats underneath
Theres a man just to her right
Black suit and a bright red tie
Too ashamed to tell his wife
Hes out of work
Hes buying time
all those people going somewhere? Why have I never cared?
